Hello everyone, I'm Jorge Macias. I am now 26 this year and have been in Los Angeles for the last 5 years pursuing my career as a fashion/beauty photographer. I'm a student of Psychology with a goal to get my PhD and open my own Non-profit to work with youth in particular. I've been blessed in so many ways during my stay in La and have met people who are now a huge inspiration in my life.
One of those special persons in my life is Angelina Attwell, the creator of the Mighty Me Movement, with whom I've had the pleasure of traveling with to an orphanage in Mexico multiple times now. Together we have provided these kids different opportunities to creatively engage in and further explore their views on life using different art forms. My main role on previous trips has been leading photography classes, painting wall murals, cooking and English lessons. We go there with the intention of allowing the youth to use other creative outlets to express themselves and really empower them to be who they want.
Ive now had the opportunity to lead a few VERY successful trips within the last couple years. Ive been blessed to have old friends, mentors and new faces join me in part of this journey. Together we have raised funds for new washer, A/C units, printers, new school uniforms, and so much more! It truly has been a humbling a experience to be able to share this with those people I know truly want to make a difference and to see the instant reward all the volunteers experience. Thats why I openly invite anyone to come and join me, be a part of the difference you would like to see in this world!
This year I have made it a priority and goal to create an organization that will continuously help provide education, creative activities, around the the globe!
Im a creating a trip for the end of August to visit Rancho Del Nino in Guaymas, Mexico and I need your help.
My main goals for this trip are:
To help empower one youth by financially supporting a project that will better there community in anyway.
Provide photography and video equipment to be used as a creative activity to help kids engage with their thoughts and feelings. To help allow them to express themselves
Update Study Room/Library
Goal is obtain new educational material for the kids. As well as new Television for educational purposes
The truth is it takes a whole team to create the change we want to see in this world. I need your financial support to help empower these kids future.
