On November 21, 2026, I am riding a 100-mile century bike ride to celebrate my Aunt Carol's birthday and raise funds for The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration (AFTD) in memory of my dad and in honor of my Uncle Sam, who is currently living with FTD.
Biking has become a little bit of a tradition in our family. Years ago, my dad rode his motorcycle every New Year's Day. To honor him, my aunts Cyndy and Carol started the "JRP Bike Rides," pedaling out every New Year's Day, rain or shine or snow.
Now I'm channeling that same spirit into this 100-mile challenge. Frontotemporal degeneration (FTD) is a devastating disease that has impacted my family in more ways than one. We lost my dad to this disease, and today my Uncle Sam continues to face the daily challenges that come with an FTD diagnosis. That's why this ride means so much to me.
All funds raised will go directly to AFTD to support research, raise awareness, and provide resources for individuals living with FTD and the caregivers who support them.
Every donation honors my dad's memory, supports my Uncle Sam's fight, and makes Carol's birthday even more meaningful. Thank you so much for your support, shares, and cheers as I tackle these 100 miles!
