On May 18, 2026, we unexpectedly lost our friend, father, hospitality professional, and community member, Wil Quijano, at the age of 53.
A proud Connecticut native, Wil grew up in Bristol and later attended Central Connecticut State University. Many throughout Connecticut’s restaurant and hospitality community knew Wil as one of the founding members of Wood-n-Tap, Agave Grill, and Vaughan’s Public House, and later as a partner in Roberto’s Real American Tavern.
He spent much of his life doing what he loved most—bringing people together, creating memorable experiences, and building lasting friendships. Wil had a larger-than-life personality, a generous heart, and a way of making everyone feel welcome. Through his years in hospitality, he touched countless lives and created connections that will not be forgotten.
Most importantly, Wil was the father of four children.
This fundraiser has been established to help support Wil’s children as they navigate life following the loss of their father. Funds raised will help provide support and opportunities for Wil’s children in the years ahead. In a generous gesture, Isabella, Wil’s oldest child, has chosen to donate her portion of the funds to Alateen, a program of Al-Anon that provides support for children and teens affected by someone else’s alcoholism.
Wil’s passing is also a reminder that many people face struggles we cannot always see. In his memory, we hope to encourage compassion, connection, and support for those who may be facing difficult challenges of their own. We are grateful for the support of Linked for Life (L4L), an organization dedicated to connection, support, and mental health awareness, whose mission reminds us that no one should have to face life’s struggles alone.
