Honoring the Life of Rahim, Tribute to his 3 Girls
For 12 years Rahim was the legendary Superintendent of our apartment building in NYC. He tended to our every need and did everything for us with passion, love, kindness and always with a smile of gold.
Tragically on Valentine’s Day, at the young age of 33, he passed away due to COVID. Rahim had been in the hospital since Christmas fighting for his life as everyone who knew him prayed for a miracle.
Rahim was a dedicated husband to Areefa Rahaman, and father of three small children; Zara 6, Ziva 5 and Zofia 2. As a devoted, hard working family man, Rahim was the bread winner, as his wife cared for their children. Rahim worked around the clock, 6 days a week, to provide for his family.
Our hearts break as these 3 gorgeous, young girls have to grow up in a world without their amazing father by their side. We want to do everything we can to make this coming year easier on them so they can grieve properly and not have to worry about paying for food, home, clothing and their many bills. The money raised will go directly to making sure Areefa and her 3 daughters are looked after in the next year and hopefully longer.

Obviously any dollar amount will be so appreciated. We know there are so many people in need right now. Everyone has their own tragic COVID story but if you knew Rahim your life would have been greatly enhanced. His spirit will always remain in everyone he touched. May his memory carry on in his lovable, adorable, smiling children and through your generosity to this family struck so hard by this devastating pandemic.
