Three years ago, our world changed in an instant when our middle son Theo was diagnosed with stage 4 non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

The months that followed were full of many months spent in hospital, treatments, and challenges we never imagined we’d face. Myself or Leila would be in hospital with him around the clock, witnessing his battle first hand, whilst the other one was at home caring for our other 2 sons, Lucas and Orson.

This brutal treatment lasted many intense months and meant the family was separated - precious time we can never get back.

But thanks to his incredible medical team, the love of our friends and family, and his own unbelievable courage, today he is in full remission — healthy, happy, and full of life!

Next year, we have the chance to take a dream family holiday to Florida — our first ever flight together! This isn’t just a holiday; it’s a celebration of his strength, of how far we’ve come, and of all the love that’s carried us here.

Thanks to support from Kids Cancer Charity, we will be staying a week with Give Kids The World Village - a purpose-built, not for profit resort specifically for families with children who’ve had a critical illness, and then a week self-catering in a villa.  

We’re most of the way towards the travel costs (flights, insurance and transport) now - phew! We also need to fundraise a donation of $1,150 to Give Kids The World - this keeps them running and able to offer these once-in-a-lifetime holidays to families like ours. Anything else we raise would allow us to make even more magical family memories!

Whilst we’re there, Theo will celebrate his 11th birthday, and will have just reached a major milestone in his recovery - 3 years post-treatment! This is a significant statistical point in his recovery and something we’re going to celebrate to the fullest!

Many of you have walked this road with us, cheering us on every step of the way. Some friends suggested we set up this GoFundMe for anyone who’d like to be part of making this celebration happen.
