For nearly two decades, Shari Chadwick has transformed lives in the pools of San Francisco, leading joyful, music-filled aqua aerobics classes that welcome people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. A true force of nature, she overcame her own fear of water and chronic pain to become the first Black certified aqua instructor at the Stonestown YMCA.

As the beloved Community Water Family Instructor at the Martin Luther King Jr. Pool, she has been a tremendous asset to the Bayview community, providing a space where movement heals. Shari’s classes aren’t just workouts—they’re a lifeline.

Now, as we honor Shari for her unwavering dedication, we invite you to give back to the woman who has given so much. We're celebrating Shari on May 17, 2025, from 2:00-7:00 pm at Dr. George W. Davis Senior Center. The money raised here will help fund the celebration!
