It’s my birthday, and this year, I’m asking for something different. In lieu of gifts, I’m fundraising for the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS), an organization close to my heart.

TAPS is the national organization providing compassionate care for all those grieving the death of a military loved one. TAPS honors our military men and women by caring for all those they loved and left behind.

My dad was a huge inspiration in my life, and while his loss will always have a heavy impact on my life TAPS has helped me navigate through this loss. Shortly after his passing, I was able to join my first Good Grief Camp, to connect with others who have also lost military loved ones. Since then I have partaken in multiple events through TAPS, building various friendships and relationships along the way.
