It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Jerry Hernandez, a beloved son, brother, friend, and musician. Jerry was a proud graduate of Montebello High School and a shining light in the Montebello Oiler Band (MOB) family.

Jerry was more than a talented tenor drum player — he was a leader, a role model, and a kind soul with an infectious smile. His love for music and performance was unmatched, and it earned him one of the greatest honors in high school music: selection to the Bands of America (BOA) Honor Band for the 2022 Tournament of Roses® Parade. Out of hundreds of applicants across the country, Jerry was chosen to represent not only his school, but his community and state on a national stage. He rehearsed, performed, and shined in front of millions — just as he always did in life.

He loved deeply. He gave selflessly. He was adored by all who knew him.

Now, in this time of unimaginable loss, we ask for your support to help give Jerry the farewell he deserves. All donations will go directly to his funeral and memorial services, supporting the Hernandez family as they navigate this heartbreaking time.
