<div>It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Jerry Hernandez, a beloved son, brother, friend, and musician. Jerry was a proud graduate of Montebello High School and a shining light in the Montebello Oiler Band (MOB) family.

<div>Jerry was more than a talented tenor drum player — he was a leader, a role model, and a kind soul with an infectious smile. His love for music and performance was unmatched, and it earned him one of the greatest honors in high school music: selection to the Bands of America (BOA) Honor Band for the 2022 Tournament of Roses® Parade. Out of hundreds of applicants across the country, Jerry was chosen to represent not only his school, but his community and state on a national stage. He rehearsed, performed, and shined in front of millions — just as he always did in life.
