We're raising $50,000 to host Beautiful Both Ways: A Celebration of You — an innovative event dedicated to individuals with vitiligo and other skin differences. This empowering event will highlight the unique beauty of those with skin differences, featuring a fashion show, beauty sessions, and mental health resources.
- 1 in 5 people worldwide have a visible difference (birthmarks, scars, vitiligo, limb differences, burns, etc.)
- 40% of people with visible differences experience discrimination in daily life
- 60% of young people with visible differences report low self-esteem and mental health challenges
- Media Representation: Less than 1% of models in mainstream fashion and beauty campaigns have visible differences
Beauty standards have long excluded individuals with visible differences, leading to discrimination, low self-esteem, and a lack of representation. This demographic of more than 10 million people nationally is rarely seen in fashion, media, or beauty campaigns. Beautiful Both Ways is more than an event—it’s a movement to challenge these norms, celebrate diversity, and create a world where everyone feels seen, valued, and beautiful in their own way.
We're also creating a stunning coffee table book that captures the stories and strength of our participants. Help us make this celebration of self-love and acceptance a reality! Your support will help us cover event costs, effective resources, and the production of our 1st coffee table book.
