Help Honor Coach Todd Rickard with a SURPRISE Lunas Memorabilia

For over 30 years, Coach Todd Rickard—lovingly known as Coach Todd—dedicated his life to the Lahaina community through the game of basketball. As the head coach of Lahainaluna High School’s girls basketball team, and more recently, the boys team as well, Coach Todd led his players to an incredible 20 MIL championships, including 19 back-to-back titles and a State Championship in 2010. But his impact goes far beyond the wins.

Coach Todd is more than a coach—he’s a mentor, a leader, and a father figure to generations of student-athletes. He taught life lessons through the game: hard work, family, belief in oneself, and the power of unity. His greatest accomplishment wasn’t just what happened on the court, but in the lives he helped shape.

Coach Todd is married to Emer Rickard and together they have three children—Rachael, Todd Jr., and Tre—and four beloved grandchildren. Tragically, their family was among those who lost everything in the 2023 Lahaina Wildfire, including Coach Todd’s childhood home.

As the Lahainaluna gym undergoes renovation, Athletic Director Jon Conrad has donated a piece of the original hardwood baseline that reads “LUNAS” in red and white. Former player Hi‘ilei Bacalso (Class of 2011) stepped up to preserve this piece and turn it into a one-of-a-kind memorabilia for Coach Todd in honor of his retirement.

We’re asking for your help to fund this project—a small token of appreciation to reflect the decades of love, leadership, and legacy that Coach Todd has given to Lahaina. Once complete, this special memorabilia will be signed by former players, symbolizing the lifelong impact he has made.
