Celebrate Cameron's Life: Support His Loved Ones

CAMERON'S FINAL SEND

In honor of Cameron Versteeg and supporting his loving family through difficult times.

It saddens us all that we must try to grasp the reality of the loss of such a beautiful soul and loved one. Cameron was special; he expected excellence from himself, yet he did not expect that from you. He may have made fun of you for it a bit, but he loved you for who you are. He was a simple and at the same time a complicated person. If you knew him well or at all, you know this about him. He loved his family, sisters, and mother more than anything. He had a way of making a connection with people that was infectious; you wanted more. He was the coolest! His love for his friends was always bittersweet; some days were the greatest ever, and others were dark and difficult. One thing that could always brighten his spirits was connecting with nature or being outside in some capacity. His love and talent for snowboarding, surfing, fishing, skateboarding, and camping were some of the many ways he connected with the joy nature brought to him and his friends. I'm sure many of you had the chance to experience a time or two with him in one of these settings. He was also known and recognized for his pure and raw talent with a camera. He could capture you and the vision in one still frame. His views and abilities to run a video camera were incredible and getting better. His work behind the lens was powerful and captivating, just like he was.

This GoFundME is to help support the family Cam had always cherished and made sure was comfortable. During these trying and unimaginable times, his family has been working hard to make sure that he is honored exactly how he would have wanted—with the ocean in his Southern California surf and film communities and in the mountains of Big Cottonwood Canyon with his family and community back home.

Over the past months, the family has been traveling back and forth from LA to SLC to WA to be with Cameron and one another. The costs of the back-and-forth travel have been adding up, in addition to taking care of his remains and arranging two celebrations of life. This has become a financial endeavor to make everything come together, as we all would love it to be perfect for our special Cameron.

Any contribution you can give at this time would be helpful. Your support for the family over these difficult days, weeks, and months, as the processing and reality of this have not yet fully set in for anyone, would be greatly appreciated and make a huge impact.
