Archer Rowland was unexpectedly born 9 weeks early. After delivery, he was immediately taken to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, where he spent his first 56 days of life. Going home from the hospital without your child is truly every parent's worst nightmare. Throughout Archie's stay in the NICU, Charles and I received unparalleled support from the NICU staff as they worked tirelessly to achieve the best possible outcome for our son. Not only did our Archie receive excellent medical care, but the NICU staff made sure to address our needs as well. The amount of support we received as preemie parents made such a difference as we navigated the hardest time of our lives.
As Archie's birthday approaches, we couldn't think of a better way to celebrate his first year of life than to give back to the place that made such a difference in all three of our lives. In lieu of birthday gifts, we are asking for donations that will be made directly to Good Samaritan Hospital NICU. Our hope is that with these donations we can help to continue to support the NICU staff and other families with children in their care.
We have chosen not to share photos of Archie publicly, but if you would like an update/pictures, please message Ali or Charles privately and we are happy to share!
