Celebrate Amelie's Gift and Support CHOA

Diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy, six weeks after birth, baby Amelie was in the hospital. Her heart was failing and unable to support her body any longer. By October 2023, Amelie was placed on the pediatric heart transplant list. November 2023, she had a Berlin Heart implanted to help circulate blood around her body while she continued to wait in the hospital for a heart transplant.
After waiting 3+ months, Amelie received her gift. A gift given by a grief-stricken family that was able to help babies like Amelie, even though their own world was shattered.
This February 2025 will mark her first anniversary with her gifted heart. With her first heartiversary, we want to raise funds to support Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, Heart Center, where Amelie spent almost 9 months of her first year of life. The heart programs and staff at CHOA were invaluable in helping our family as we spent days, nights, and weekends at the hospital, and we would like to give back.

100% of donations will be put towards CHOA's Heart Center including:
- Treats for the Heart Center staff (doctors, nurses, techs, respiratory therapists, in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, the Cardiac Acute Care Unit, and the Heart Catherization Lab)
- Kids at Heart - a program for parents, caregivers and families of patients with congenital heart defects who are treated at Children's
- Feed the Heart - provides meals, snacks and drinks for heart patients and their families during hospital stays so that families don't have to worry about food and can focus on caring for their children
- Feed the Mind - babies from 0 to 12 months old receive a bag containing two age-appropriate books so that family members and caretakers can begin reading to them
- Feed the Mom - helps mothers and infants by providing emotional support, mental health resources, breastfeeding support and donor-funded care packages that include an encouraging note from a heart mom who has been through a similar experience
