Hello!

We are the Curtin Filipino Students Society (CFSS) — a student-led cultural organization based at Curtin University in Perth, Western Australia. Our mission is to support Filipino students, celebrate our heritage, and give back to communities in need — especially in our homeland, the Philippines.

Who We Are & Where We’re From

CFSS is a registered student society under Curtin Student Guild. We are made up of Filipino and Filipino-Australian students currently studying at Curtin University in Perth, WA.

Why We’re Raising Funds

Recently, a devastating earthquake struck Cebu, Philippines, severely impacting homes, schools, and communities — including members of the Cebuano Youth Association (CYA). Even more recently an earthquake also hit our fellow Filipinos in Davao, Oriental.

The Cebuano Youth Ambassadors is a grassroots, youth-led organization based in Cebu that works to uplift underprivileged youth through education, leadership programs, and community outreach.

Now, they’re working on the frontlines to distribute urgent relief — and they need support.

Our Connection to the Beneficiaries

CFSS has built a strong partnership with the Cebuano Youth Association through shared youth empowerment projects. Several of our members are originally from Cebu or have family and close community ties there. We are in direct communication with CYA’s leadership team and will be working closely with them throughout this relief effort.

How the Funds Will Be Spent

100% of the funds raised will go directly to the Cebuano Youth Association's earthquake relief operations. Here’s a breakdown of how the funds will be used:

All transactions and transfers will be documented, and we will be providing updates and receipts through this GoFundMe page and our social media platforms (@curtinfilosoc).

We understand the responsibility that comes with handling donations, especially for disaster relief. We are committed to full transparency and will ensure that all funds raised are used exactly as outlined above..
