My name is Sarah, and I come from the Central Visayas region of the Philippines, in a small neighbourhood of Cebu that was once full of laughter, music, and children playing in the streets.
A few days ago, that same neighbourhood was swallowed by water.
Houses are gone. Roads have turned into rivers. Families — my friends, my relatives — climbed to their rooftops with their children, waiting for rescue as the rain kept pouring.
Even now, thousands of families are displaced. They have no homes to return to, no dry clothes, and very little food. The floods took not just belongings, but memories — family photos, school supplies, the little things that made a house a home.
I am far from home now, living in London, but my heart is still in Cebu. I can’t just watch and do nothing. So I’m starting this fundraiser to send help directly to those who need it most — families in my community who’ve lost everything.
Every donation, no matter how small, will go toward:
Food packs and clean drinking water
Dry clothes, blankets, and hygiene kits
Temporary shelter and support for children
If you can, please share this post — every share spreads awareness and hope.
Cebu has always been strong. With your kindness, we can help it rise again.
Daghang salamat — thank you from the bottom of my heart.
— Sarah, a proud Filipino
