Hello! :) My name is Paula. Although I now live in England, where I work as a senior lecturer within the Faculty of Medicine at one of London's medical school, I was born and raised in the Philippines and began my career as a nurse before moving to the UK more than a decade ago.
I have closely followed the devastating impact of super typhoon Kalmaegi on Cebu City Philippines and the surrounding regions—where flash floods, overflowing rivers and massive displacement have upset thousands of lives. As of early November 2025, the storm has killed at least 114 people and left 127 missing, many of them in Cebu. It has also displaced more than 560,000 people across the region.
Filipinos are known to be resilient. But resilience should not mean enduring hardship alone. In times of natural calamity, we still need help, compassion, and solidarity.
The funds raised through this campaign will go directly towards providing basic food aid for my fellow countrymen in Cebu affected by super typhoon Kalmaegi. This includes essential items such as:
- Rice
- Canned goods with long shelf life
- Clean drinking water
Any amount you can give will make a difference. Thank you!
