Hi, my name is Alea O’Shea. I’m 25 years old, and two months ago I was diagnosed with brain cancer.
As part of my treatment, I am currently undergoing radiation and oral chemotherapy, which has caused significant and quite atypical hair loss. I am losing around half of my hair.
Hair loss is often spoken about as a side effect, but it can be a very real and emotional experience. It impacts confidence, identity, and how you feel showing up in the world, especially during an already overwhelming time.
In searching for solutions for myself, I found Tammy Lobato’s bonded wigs. I was genuinely relieved to find something that feels secure, natural, and allows me to move through daily life with a little more confidence. That sense of normalcy has made a meaningful difference during my recovery.
That experience is what led me to create CEARE and this fundraiser. Tammy has already generously offered 10% off any product using ALEA10, and has been incredibly flexible with payments. Her kindness, combined with my own desire to help wherever I can, led me to create the CEARE (pronounced “because I care”) Wig Fund.
Through this fund, I would love to help four women across Australia access bonded wigs during medical hair loss. These wigs typically cost between $4,000 and $6,000 each and are often financially out of reach at a time when people are already facing significant medical and personal expenses.
I am a content creator, and I’m also hoping to raise funds through freelance editing, with all proceeds going directly to the CEARE Wig Fund. If you’re a business or brand and would like to support in this way, you can enquire here:

And if you’re simply happy to donate, please know that I am extremely grateful.
If donations exceed the initial goal, additional funds will be used to support as many applicants as possible.
Thank you for being here and for supporting CEARE.
Alea xx
