Imagine being eight years old. Yesterday you had a home, a school, a routine. Today you're sleeping outside, afraid and sometimes with no other family. You don't know when you'll go back to school. You don't know if it's safe to play. You don't understand why your world suddenly disappeared.
Next week our founder, Andrea Gonzalez Duarte, Luz Nay will travel to Venezuela themselves. Together with local partners, they will assess the needs on the ground, reach communities where little or no humanitarian aid has arrived, and begin supporting children and the local organizations that care for them. We are not waiting for others to act we are bringing our experience directly to the children who need it most.
For the past seven years, our Foundation Mi Barrio Mi Sueno have worked every single day with children living through complex trauma. Nearly 90% of the families in our community have been displaced by armed conflict. We work with children facing violence, abuse, hunger, loss, interrupted education, and chronic stress. We understand that healing begins long before a child can talk about what they have experienced.
That experience allows us to bring something that emergency aid often cannot: psychosocial recovery and long-term resilience.
Our goal: €9,000
This will allow us to:
- Reach multiple underserved communities.
- Travel safely into affected areas.
- Purchase educational and psychosocial materials.
- Create child-friendly spaces.
- Train local organizations.
- Develop trauma toolkits that remain in the community.
- Support local volunteers after we leave.
- Document and evaluate the impact.
We go where help doesn't reach, and we stay focused on what cannot be seen: the invisible wounds children carry long after the earthquake is over.
€7.50 provides materials for one child.
€75 equips one psychosocial activity session.
€250 helps train local volunteers.
€500 supports a child-friendly safe space.
€1,000 allows us to reach another remote community.
We don't believe in short-term missions that disappear after a few days. Our goal is to leave behind knowledge, practical tools, and trained local leaders who can continue supporting children long after international attention has moved on.
Our mission is simple: go where help hasn't reached, strengthen the communities that remain, and give children the chance to recover with dignity.
We cannot do this alone.
Whether you donate €10 or €1,000, you become part of this mission. Together, we can reach communities that are often overlooked and ensure that children receive not only emergency support, but also the emotional care they need to rebuild their future.
Thank you for standing with us and with the children of Venezuela.
