I'm reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for help for my mom, who is going through a very difficult time. She’s currently facing serious medical issues that have made it extremely difficult for her to work, and as a result, she’s struggling to afford rent and basic living expenses for the coming months. She’s always been the one to help others, but now she needs our support more than ever.

For context, my mom was in a serious car accident a few years ago that has left her with severe back pain, making her mobility very limited. She mostly requires a walker to be able to move even in the house. This, paired with a connective tissue disease, has caused her to lose many jobs over the years as a nurse as she struggles to be able to keep up physically. Moving most days for her is a struggle, and not being able to keep health insurance long enough to get proper treatment has caused her condition to only worsen over the years. Currently, she is receiving steroid injections just so she can get out of bed in the mornings, but they are worsening her eyesight and are long-term not a suitable treatment for her as she already has cataracts. All of these compounding issues have left her out of being able to work more than 2 days this past month as she can't afford to get more of the medical attention she needs to be able to work most days.

To further worsen her situation, she was evicted this month due to her landlord not using the rent she paid to pay the mortgage and the bank taking the house. This caused her to spend money that she didn't have to move into a new apartment and has left her with almost nothing to her name. She has applied for Social Security and Medicare, but both of those won't go into effect until September.

Due to these circumstances, I'm creating this to help get her through the next month for rent and whatever else I can with your help. She only needs $1,000 to be able to maintain her rent, but she needs more than that for other medical expenses as well. I appreciate anything and everything anyone can do to help. Thank you all.
