Cathy Curtis Homeless children Fund

Donation protected
Cathy Curtis (1939 - 2015) lost her father early in life.  Her family received assistance from their community, which made a significant difference for Cathy and her two sisters.  From that moment on she has dedicated her life to "giving back," as she would say.  She volunteered throughout her life, acquired a B.S. in Human Services in her mid years and worked tirelessly to acquire  benefits for those who have it the hardest.  Cathy worked her last 10 years as the Family Advocate of  PADS of Lake County, the homeless agency.

Although IL empowers the  McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act , Cathy still found children without assistance.   With the consultation of PADS of Lake County and Mother's Trust, this fund will provide educational needs for students as well as necessities for participating in extracurricular activities. Students will be able to join sports, attend clubs, fine arts performances and dances like their peers. In addition, when the opportunity arises, this fund will provide opportunites for students to attend job training programs.

By establishing this fund  for the homeless children of Lake County, we will  enhance children's lives in a small but most valuable way.

It is our intention to generate donations by June 20th of each year in celebration of her life.  Join Cathy as she donates $1,000.00 to this year's cause.
