Cathy is raising money for the Dacorum Mayor's Future Fund

My name is Catherine and I am the Mayor of Dacorum.

Having worked in the voluntary sector for many years I recognise how hard it can be to raise funds particulary for smaller charities without professional fundraisers.

As the mayor I am keen to promote the voluntary sector and local community organisations and support them financially via the Mayors Future Fund.

I didnt want to choose just one charity to support during the year as I am keen that as many people as possible benefit from the mayoral activities.

People across Dacorum helping the community with good causes can apply for support for example if some equipment is needed to support an activity, local projects that support health and wellbeing such as arranging a day trip for the elderly or those in the community who would benefit or maybe an activity to support nature or promote culture. The list is endless. The more funds we raise the more we can make a meaningful difference to those in need.

The fund will be managed by Community Action Dacorum who have been supporting the voluntary sector across Dacorum for many years.

Over the next few months I will be challenging myself to be more active to raise funds and will be hosting many events.

I would welcome all donations no matter how big or small. If everyone in Dacorum donated just £1 then we would raise over 100k....just imagine the difference that would make!
