Dear Friends and Family,
As you all know, this year has been a particularly tough one for many. I am extremely lucky and privileged to have a warm bed, a place to stay, food, access to healthcare, and family and friends who always have my back. I know many of you feel the same way.
Unfortunately, these are luxuries that many in our community do not share. This is particularly true for women who bear the extra burden of experiencing poverty, housing insecurity, and other crises.
For that reason, I hope you can join me in supporting the Catherine McAuley Center of Scranton as they work to assist women to obtain permanent housing which is safe, decent, and affordable, and provide a lifeline for women and children experiencing homelessness in Lackawanna and Luzerne Counties.
I have set a goal of raising $1,000 by January 30 for the Center. I will use all of the money raised to purchase items bed sheets, towels, feminine hygiene products, other toiletries, diapers, toys, non-perishable foods, and other items identified by the Center to be in high demand by their clients.
Any amount, whether it's five bucks or more, will be put to good use, and helps make someone else's way through life just a little bit easier. Alternatively, if you have any of the above stated items that are new and unopened, please let me know and I can facilitate picking them up.
You are welcome to share this link with anyone that might be interested in supporting this effort.
Thank you in advance for any support you can offer.
With love,
Matthew Prior

Catherine McAuley Center
The mission of the McAuley Center is to meet the housing needs of women. In particular, they provide temporary shelter for women and children in crisis and assist women to obtain safe, affordable, permanent housing. The Center's individualized case management provides women support services leading to self-reliance and links individuals and families to community resources not supplied by the Center.
