On the morning of the 2nd July, Cath and Boh and their children brought baby twins, Beatrice and Lenny, into the world. Tragically (and traumatically), they were born at home much earlier than expected (unplanned at 31 weeks gestation) and darling little Beatrice passed away, leaving Lenny to continue his journey in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at The Royal Women’s Hospital. Lenny, who has Down syndrome, is a little warrior, getting stronger each day in preparation to join his loving family on their property in Glenlyon.
The family will face significant challenges as they navigate the loss of Beatrice and provide the necessary support for Lenny. It’s hard to know exactly how to help in times like these, but we do know that preparing their home for Lenny's arrival is a crucial step in providing him with the care he will need. We also know how easing some of the financial burden of raising a family can create space to process grief and trauma.
Cath and Boh are fairly private people and they, themselves wouldn’t usually reach out for support, but, as we know, they always give generously to their loved ones and the communities they are a part of. In order to give them some time and space to heal, process their grief, and focus on their little man, we are reaching out for assistance.
If you are a tradie and have some time or resources to give to chip in and help with their home, that would be amazing. Please get in touch with Rylie (Boh’s sister) to organise. If you have some spare funds that you can contribute to our GoFundMe campaign that would be super appreciated also.
Thank you for your generosity and kindness.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Rylie
