Caswell Park needs your help. The park is a 37 acre regional and community park in East Knoxville popular for its softball fields, creekside greenway, playground, and open lawn space, but only five acres are freely accessible to the public.

Knoxville’s mayor plans to give away half of Caswell Park’s freely accessible open lawn space to a private developer, even though all the park is protected by “Open Space” zoning for the permanent preservation of public park lands. The mayor intends to change the Open Space zoning to high density residential zoning, then transfer the land to a private developer. This unprecedented move puts all of Knoxville’s public park land at risk.

Which public park is next? We won‘t give our park land up without a fight, and need your help to defend Caswell Park. We need legal representation right away, then a media campaign to tell the story of park land being taken in an undemocratic attack on Knoxville’s public park lands.
Please chip in to ensure Knoxville’s green space has a fighting chance against a term-limited Mayor’s unprecedented assault on an urban, lower income neighborhood’s green space.
Please help our 501c3 non-profit, the Park City Preservation Alliance , raise funds to hire legal and creative professionals to advocate for Caswell Park.
