Castle Court Veterans Village

Every day, veterans who have served our country face homelessness, isolation, and hardship. Many struggle to find stability after leaving the forces, while others remain stuck in hospitals, unable to return home due to a lack of suitable housing.

Castle Court Veterans Village in Redcar and Cleveland, is a new project working to change this reality.

Castle Court in Boosbeck, was previously a care home, based in the East Cleveland area of North Yorkshire. After many years in a derelict state, this stunning property was in desperate need of some TLC to bring it back to life. So, South Gare Development Limited. purchased the property in December 2023 with the aim to create fully furnished affordable properties which would house a community of people with similar experiences, to support in their journey as veterans.

Once complete the building will house individual rooms complete with ensuites, reception and staff offices, along with laundry / kitchen and communal areas, private parking and an outside garden with seating and the potential to incorporate additional outside dwellings.

While the refurbishment will be complete soon after a full restoration, the project is in desperate need of furniture, essentials, and everyday items to transform these spaces into homes for those who have served.

Whether you’re a business, charity, or individual, the project is in desperate need of cash donations to help us fund resources such as:

• Household essentials – beds, mattresses, pillows, bedding, sofas, cushions, towels, cleaning products and toiletries.

• Kitchen equipment – pots, pans, cutlery, plates, white goods, and utensils to supply two kitchens.

• Entertainment an well-being – TVs, games consoles, books, board games, puzzles, dartboards, and more.

• Outdoor and activity gear – walking gear, camping equipment, fishing gear, hats, umbrellas, torches.

No donation is too small—everything counts toward helping a veteran rebuild their life.
