My daughter, Cassandra, was a Domestic Violence Victim. I am starting this GoFundMe to help and protect my daughter and grandson.

My name is Cassandra Jackman, and I'm from Cambridge, MA. I graduated from Buckingham Browne and Nichols with a Community Service Excellence Award. I graduated from Umass Amherst with Honors with a BFA in Dance and have been a Dance teacher and choreographer at multiple studios within MA since the age of 12. My parents, Kimberly and Curtis Jackman are pillars of the community throughout Cambridge, including starting the Cambridge Jets, a non-profit youth track club which has been in existence for over 35 years.

My son, Quinton and I are DV survivors of my ex-domestic partner Quinton's father. The abuse was emotional, mental and financial before and during the pregnancy and became extremely physical after his birth. Although his father was present for the birth of his son, he CHOSE not to sign the birth certificate and abandoned us in the hospital. We are currently in a legal battle where the magistrate is re-victimizing us and making unsafe orders that are NEGLECTFUL in regard to Quinton's well-being and future development. Quinton has suffered from and been exposed to trauma from birth, was a failure-to-thrive baby (WHICH I WORKED HARD TO RESOLVE AMIDST THE ABUSE), is non-verbal and has been seeing an Early Intervention specialist since before the start of our Custody Case. Both myself and his father have been representing ourselves, but the court magistrate and the clerk's office in the Rhode Island Garrahy Family Court are treating us unfairly and not providing the due process we deserve. I've exhausted all the options for low-income and DV victims for legal representation in RI. I'm starting this GoFund Me to help us get a lawyer that will fight for us!!! We are grateful for anything that you can give; we hope you can spread the word to get Quinton the justice he deserves and help keep him with his MOTHER, who has been the ONLY parent caring for him since BIRTH!
