Honoring Casey Gregory - A Legacy of Healing, Hope & Second Chances
I am starting a foundation in memory of my sister, Casey Gregory - a radiant, loving soul who left this world far too soon due to alcohol abuse. Casey had a heart as big as the lake she loved, a laugh that echoed to 90s country songs, and a bond with her golden retriever Spanky that was pure and unconditional. She was the kind of person who made everyone feel like home - kind, loyal, and full of light.
This foundation is being created to honor her story and help others find the hope and healing that Casey deserved. Our mission is to support alcohol addiction recovery and mental health initiatives, with a special focus on young adults and women who are at a crossroads in life - those searching for second chances, stability, and someone to believe in them.
What the Foundation Will Do:
- Provide grants for recovery programs, financial stability while going through recovery, and mental health services
- Partner with organizations that offer prevention, education, and support for substance use disorders
- Create space for storytelling and connection, reminding people they're not alone in their struggles
Annual Events to Keep Casey's Legacy Alive:
We'll also host annual events that celebrate who Casey was - bringing people together to raise awareness, remember those we've lost, and fund the mission:
- "Spanky's Day at the Lake": A community gathering in honor of Casey and her dog with music, connections, and reflection
- "Country for a Cause": A live music fundraiser with 80s-90s country tribute bands and recovery stories woven throughout
- "Dog Days Annual Memorial Walk": A 5k dog walk that emphasizes well-being, nurturing the inner self, and prioritizing mental wellness; followed by vendors and local eats.
How the Seed Money Will Help:
Your donation will help:
- Legally establish the nonprofit foundation (filings, 501(c)(3) status, startup costs)
- Build a simple, professional website with donation + grant application capability
- Develop the first round of grant funding for individuals in need of recovery support
- Launch our first awareness event to share Casey's story and build community support
Every dollar brings us closer to giving someone the lifeline they need. We believe Casey's story - though heartbreaking - has the power to change and save lives. Help us turn our grief into purpose and plant the first seeds of healing in her name.
Thank you for being part of this legacy.
For Casey. For healing. For hope.
