I'm fundraising for my partner Cas, who is a disabled, trans, queer young adult trying to escape their abusive family of origin. Cas doesn't have any financial resources and is unable to work due to their medical conditions. They have applied for social security disability benefits, but are 3 years into the appeal process and haven't seen a dime. I am also disabled with no familial support. I work limited part-time hours, earning enough to survive (mostly) but not enough to save for what we need. Cas has also been adopted by a (formerly) stray cat who we named Snickerdoodle, and we already have debt from her first ever vet visit.
Cas is currently stuck living with their family of origin, and our goal is to help them get everything they need to move in with me, 450+ miles away. (With our beautiful daughter Snickerdoodle, of course.) Our biggest obstacle is obtaining a working vehicle, as we both live in very car-dependent rural areas. Any money raised will go towards expenses related to survival, moving, and independence, e.g. a vehicle, maintenance & repairs, car insurance, gas, vet bills, human medical bills, medical equipment, and pet supplies.
We're looking into all the state and charity resources that we can find, but even if a car fell out of the sky, we'd still need help with the other things I listed. Any contribution is greatly appreciated! Thank you so much for reading, kind human. I hope you get unexpected good news today, and your favorite fruit is just the right amount of ripe the next time you go to eat it.
