Cartwheel Farm Sharing Fund - 2023

Donation protected
We are Nigel and Laura Francis. At our small family farm in the Creston Valley, we grow certified organic produce with joy! We believe that all people in the Creston Valley should have access to beautiful local food food.

Since launching the farm in 2014, we have quietly worked with some of you to help feed community members facing times of need. Together, we have shared our harvest with households visited by serious illness and other hardships. We have also helped refugees to Canada find roots in the Valley through local food.

We have set up the Cartwheel Farm Sharing Fund to make it easier for our customers and supporters to help flow more produce from our little fields out into the community. Our intention is to help our community grow more caring, connected, resilient, and food secure.

This year, we will be partnering with the Creston Valley Refugee Committee and the Yaqan nuʔkiy (Lower Kootenay) Band. We hope to raise the equivalent of $150/week for each week in our 24-week season.

Fresh, organic, community-supported veggies are a healing gift. They can bring not only nutrition, but also a sense of belonging and support. Please consider helping us to offer that gift where it can make a difference.

If donating here is not a good option for you, know that we very happily accept donations at the Creston Valley Farmers' Market.
