It is with utmost sorrow that we share the devastating news that Carter Zane Brown, cherished son of Sierra Smith and Zae Brown, gained his angel wings on Saturday, April 22.

Carter was diagnosed with gastroschisis in utero and spent a significant amount of his life at the hospital fighting through his continuous medical treatments and surgeries to remain with his family. As he neared his first birthday, Carter was thriving and his passing was completely and unequivocally unexpected. He was a beautiful and vibrant soul and there will never be words that adequately explain the devastation and loss that we feel from his passing.

 The unmeasurable pain of losing a child is something that no parent should ever have to endure. They also shouldn’t have to endure financial devastation from providing their child with the means to fight for his life nor the cost of celebrating that life if the fight is lost. Even if it is not in their nature to rely on others, we wish to ease some of Sierra and Zae’s financial burdens so they may celebrate Carter’s life in peace. We greatly hope the kindness and generosity of our community will help them in doing so. Any help is deeply appreciated during this difficult time.
