We are raising money to assist Chris & Jen Carson during their very difficult journey from Heartbreak to Hope!
On December 31st 2020 Wyatt William and Waylon William O'neill Carson made a very unexpected arrival into this world at just 22 weeks and 6 days. Weighing in at less than 1.5 pounds. With 23 weeks gestation being the cut off on when they can " save" or will perform life saving procedures on your child, these angels had a very grim chance of life. Kaiser San Diego NICU worked effortlessly to stabilize Wyatt and Waylon , "Lil" Waylon unfortunately was not quite strong enough and heartbreakingly lost his fight for life. Wyatt is holding on and still fighting every moment for his life... The nurses even put "fighter" on his diaper. He is in an incubator, receiving breast milk through a feeding tube, is breathing with the help of a ventilator, he receives IV fluids, blood transfusions, platelets, and UV light therapy. He is under the watchful eye of the amazing nursing staff 24 hours a day as they continue to monitor him and hope for the best. Every breath of life is a milestone in his journey ♥
We are raising funds for Chris and Jen to help with a multitude of support they will need throughout this journey. Funds raised will assist in allowing Jen and Chris to financially stay a float while in San Diego to stay closer to Wyatt, sustain a home for their children that need to remain in the home while they are way. Give them the ability to pay the mortgage, bills and buy groceries … just the start in this journey. With just a couple weeks of unpaid leave for Chris and unpaid leave for Jen, they will rapidly be in financial hardship and forced to return to work earlier than physically and emotionally anticipated.
