I can't believe I'm writing this.
On Sunday 12th October, the world came crumbling down around the Palmer family after they suddenly lost their daddy and husband, Colin. He was the kindest, funniest, most loving person you could meet, only 42 and had so much life ahead of him with his children and wife Amy who’s just recovered from breast cancer for the second time.
He was an incredible husband, daddy, son, and friend to everyone lucky enough to know him. His sudden and shocking passing has left a hole that can never be filled, and the heartbreak his family is facing is beyond words. Everything he did, every hour he worked, every plan he made, was to give Amy and their beautiful boys, Frankie (9) and Lenny (7), the happiest life possible.
This GoFundMe has been set up to take away some of the financial worries so Amy can focus on grieving, healing and being there for Frankie and Lenny.
The funds raised will go towards funeral costs, household expenses, finishing the home projects Colin had started for the boys and helping them continue the clubs they love - gymnastics for Frankie, martial arts for Lenny, things that bring them comfort and normality in such an uncertain time.
Colin was one of those rare people who just radiated light. He found the good in everyone, no matter what, and had a smile that could lift any mood. He adored his family.
They were his world.
He was theirs.
Amy, his wonderful wife, is honestly one of the strongest, most selfless people you could ever meet. She’s fought breast cancer twice and beaten it! All for her boys, all for Colin, all for their life together. And through it all, Colin was there, holding her hand every step of the way, being her rock when she needed him most. They are the true definition of soulmates.
She’s now facing the unthinkable, life without him, while trying to stay strong for their boys.
Amy is an amazing mum. She’s always at every club, every sports event, every bedtime, giving her boys all the love in the world. She’s that friend who’s always there for everyone else, spreading positivity no matter what she’s going through. And now she needs us, she needs everyone, to help hold her up.
Colin was truly one of a kind. He had that rare gift of making everyone laugh, always quick with a joke, a witty comeback, or a perfectly timed one-liner that could break any tension and lift any mood, if you knew him, you couldn’t help but feel good around him. His energy was infectious, his warmth unmatched. He was that safe space everyone gravitated toward, not just for Amy and the boys, but for all of Amy’s friends too. So many people confided in him because he just got it. He listened, he cared, and he always found a way to make you feel lighter when you left than when you came.
Amy adored him, completely. He was her person, her peace, her joy. She would count down the minutes for him to come home, just to have him near. They were inseparable, soulmates in every sense of the word. His presence filled every corner of their home, and without him, she is lost.
Colin loved adventure and spending time together as a family, especially in their favourite camper, heading off to explore somewhere new. He was never happier than when they were all together, round a fire with marshmallows on the go laughing and making memories. Recently, he and Amy had been able to travel just the two of them, making up for time lost while Amy was bravely fighting cancer, and those memories now mean everything.
No one can take away this pain, but together, we can make sure Amy and the boys don’t have to face it alone.
If you can donate, no matter how small, please do. If you can share this page, please do. Every bit of love and support means more than words can say.
Colin gave so much love to this world, and everyone around him, let’s give some back to his family now, when they need it most.
Thanks in advance for helping.
All of the Love
