Carry Wendy's Light: Donate to Advance MOC Research

Donation protected
Our world dimmed on November 20, 2025, when we lost Wendy Tam at just 25 years old.

Wendy was warm, radiant, and endlessly caring. She had a way of making everyone feel seen and loved, lighting up every room with her smile, humor, and kindness.

Two years ago, Wendy was diagnosed with mucinous ovarian cancer (MOC) — a rare and poorly understood subtype that represents only 3% of ovarian cancers. Despite receiving attentive care at Stanford, Sutter Health, and integrative support, Wendy ran out of treatment options far too young.

Before she passed, Wendy shared that her wish was to leave a lasting impact on this disease so that other young women might have hope and more options.

To honor her wish, we established The Wendy Tam MOC Research Fund — dedicated to advancing research and awareness for this underfunded disease. Wendy’s cancer was non-genetic — a reminder that this can happen to anyone, even a vibrant, healthy young woman. You can read her full story here: https://www.hope4moc.org/WendyTam/

WHY THIS GOFUNDME EXISTS

Every donation made through this GoFundMe will be tripled through a 2:1 matching opportunity. All funds raised here will be combined and donated directly to the Mucinous Ovarian Cancer Coalition (MOCC) in Wendy’s name — multiplying your impact and accelerating urgently needed research.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

  • Donate any amount — every $1 becomes $3
  • Share this fundraiser to help extend Wendy’s light and legacy
  • Learn more about Wendy’s story and MOCC: https://www.hope4moc.org/WendyTam/

Every gift, no matter the size, brings us closer to better treatments, more options, and more hope for women facing this devastating disease.

Thank you for honoring Wendy and helping carry forward her light and wish to make a difference.

UPDATE ON MATCHING:
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we’ve met our initial goal of $30,000! With the matching opportunity, donations up to this point were tripled (2:1). Going forward, every new donation will be matched 1:1, continuing to double the impact for mucinous ovarian cancer research.
