Carry Rayshawn Johnson's Family Forward with Your Kindness

I don't know Rayshawn Johnson, but you do. In some way, he has touched your life. Perhaps he brought you groceries when you couldn't get out, or maybe he helped you reach a place you weren't able to reach on your own. Possibly he just gave you a ride when no one else could. In one way or another, Rayshawn Johnson has touched each of your lives. There is a poem known as "Footprints in the Sand." If you're unfamiliar with it, it describes the sight of footprints in the sand, two sets, one set, and then again two sets. The poem's writer asks, "Why, when I have needed you most, have you not been there for me?” The Lord responds, "The times when you have seen only one set of footprints, my child, is when I carried you." These alternating footprints symbolize moments when we walk alongside others and times when their kindness carries us. Just like the poem, Rayshawn's acts of unexpected help remind us that we are never truly alone. Though perhaps unnoticed, his presence in your lives has been a testament to the power of community and compassion. Often, it's the small gestures that leave the deepest impressions on our hearts. A simple act of kindness, like a smile or a helping hand, can change someone's entire day and even their outlook on life. Rayshawn's seemingly small acts of generosity have created ripples of positivity that extend far beyond the moment they were given.
This also brought me to another story from the Bible about the Roman Centurion. Again, to summarize, when the Centurion asked Jesus to heal his servant, he did not want him to enter his home as he felt undeserving. When Jesus asked him if he would like him to enter the house and heal his servant, the Centurion replied to Jesus, “Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But say the word, for I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, 'Go,' and he goes; and that one, 'Come,' and he comes. I say to my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it." The Centurion's faith exemplifies a deep trust and belief in the power of goodwill and authority without needing visible proof. Similarly, Rayshawn's actions demonstrate a quiet but profound faith in the impact of kindness and service to others. Just as the Centurion believed in Jesus' ability to heal from a distance, Rayshawn's small acts of generosity have shown a belief in the far-reaching effects of compassion, even when they go unseen or unacknowledged. I say, “I don't know Rayshawn Johnson,” because he never bragged about these things, spoke of them, or asked for credit or anything in return.
I want to ask you to do what Rayshawn would do. Help out his family - his wife and children. Now, they need some people to carry them through this difficult time. Fortunately, none of us have to bear this responsibility alone. We can take them across this barren sand as a group until they can move forward again. We have set up this fund to help with any unexpected expenses they might face and give them time to grieve. Any offering, whether monetary, your time, or simply being there to provide emotional support can make a significant difference in their lives during this challenging period. No one will move “on” from the loss of Rayshawn, but we can all move forward differently, hopefully as better people. Even the smallest contributions, when combined, can create a powerful wave of support. Each act of kindness, no matter how minor it may seem, adds up to a collective force that can help Rayshawn's family navigate through their grief and rebuild their lives. By coming together as a community, we can turn individual efforts into a transformative impact and I am sure we can all agree that the world would be better with a few more Rayshawns.
So whatever you can do to help his family will be appreciated beyond measure. You can carry them for only one step, two steps, five steps, or even ten. Don't wait to lend a hand—act now and show Rayshawn's family that they are not alone. Visit the fund page today and contribute in any way you can. Your immediate support can provide them with the strength and resources they need to face the days ahead. In times of profound loss, the strength of community support becomes a beacon of hope and solace. Coming together to support Rayshawn's family not only honors his legacy but also reminds us of the powerful bonds that tie us together. Each gesture of kindness, whether big or small, serves as a testament to the enduring human spirit and the comforting embrace of a united community. Together, we can get them through this difficult time. I don’t know Rayshawn Johnson, but I do know family was his everything and I feel confident that he is in heaven right now; thanking you for your thoughts, prayers, and whatever else you can do to assist his family. God bless you for whatever you can do to help - and who knows, He may honestly take it as a personal favor.
