Please help Carrie recover from spinal cord injury

Two months after this photo of Carrie and her Dad was taken, Carrie was in a horrific car accident in Brooklyn. She and a friend were riding in an Uber when they were struck by a man, high on PCP, driving the wrong way on a one-way street.

Her friend and the Uber driver were both examined and released from the hospital that night. Carrie suffered a C5 spinal cord injury and was paralyzed from the neck down. After extensive surgery, Carrie spent a month in ICU and could only communicate by blinking.
After four months in the hospital, Carrie got off the ventilator, tracheotomy and feeding tube and was discharged to a rehab facility where she continues to receive medical care and physical therapy. We are grateful that she has regained some movement in her arms.
My sister Jane (Carrie’s Mom & the beneficiary of funds) hasn't left Carrie's side in over ten months. Along with Carrie’s dear friend Hannah and long-time family friend Michel, we are fundraising so that when Carrie is discharged to a home environment, she can continue to receive extensive physical therapy from facilities specializing in spinal cord injury. The more physical therapy, the better her odds of recovery.
In addition, the funds will be used to help with out-of-pocket medical expenses, mobility devices, mounting special needs and 24/7 personal care.
Carrie has already exceeded the early prognosis expectations of her doctors, and we are very hopeful that she will continue her incredible progress.
Thank you for your support and prayers.
