Hi! I am Carressa, a divorced 53 y/o Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. Unfortunately, life’s circumstances currently have me without a job for the past 3 months. The goal was to open a private practice mental health clinic in my rural Indiana township, on the property that is now facing possible foreclosure. The office got built, but before the clientele came, I lost my job as a treatment director in foster care (3 months ago). This has me in a hole that feels insurmountable. Depression lingered for a while, but I signed up for gig economy jobs while applying for another professional job and getting the practice going. Then came a car accident (6 days ago) that has left me lucky to be alive but without a vehicle in a town that is at least 30 minutes from possible employment. I have not lived here long enough to have community resources and have been removed from married life long enough to be out-of-sight, out-of-mind from the previous network of friends.
So, here we are. I have no job, no car, no savings, a ton of debt from divorce, have already asked family, and have sold the luxuries to make it through. Now, it is time to cast a broad net.
I am begging for help to raise enough money to get into a good used vehicle, get the mortgage caught up, and paid 1 month in advance. This will allow me to get to interviews and commute to a job. If I have a working vehicle, I will get back on my feet but feel like a duck in the barrel right now. Please help me help myself.
If this can go viral, it should be feasible for people to donate the smallest amount of a dollar and reach the goal for me to continue to serve my small community.
I have served the community my entire career and personal life. But now, I am the one who needs it. Please contribute and share, even if it is one dollar per person.
