I don't think I've participated in a fundraiser since I sold chocolate bars to go to prom in high school. It's not easy for me to ask for your hard-earned dollars, BUT I'm doing it anyway for the first time in my adult life because this cause and this ride are important to me.
June 2nd - June 8th, over 3,000 Cyclists, Roadies and Virtual Cyclists will be participating in AIDS/LifeCycle, a 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to raise funds for the life-saving services offered by San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center. This year, I’ll be riding with your support!
Preparing for this journey will require countless hours of training and preparation. I’ve committed my time to make sure that I’m ready, but I still need to raise a minimum of $3,000 to ride. For that, I’m asking you to support me by donating as generously as you possibly can. To the people who rely on these services to survive, every dollar counts. And every dollar brings me closer to being able to participate in this once-in-a-lifetime experience. My personal campaign funds will also cover some associated costs, such as my one-way flight up to the Bay area where the ride starts, bike tune-up, bike shipping. I've already spent a considerable amount on bike shoes, bike clothing, and bike parts which these funds won't cover.
The services provided as a result of this event mean the world to those who receive them, and your support means the world to me.
