Carly's Custody Battle: A Mother's Love

Donation protected
Hello my name is Candace. This is going to be an extremely long and I hope all of you take the time to read and or share
I'm making this post to advocate for my twin sister.
Those of you that know Carly, know she has overcome so many things obstacles thrown her way from birth until now. She was born with Cerebral palsy with many doctors appointments, therapy & surgeries throughout the years. My mom was told carly would never walk and never be able to have children.
Carly used to scoot around on her bum to get place to place. It was the cutest. She never was able to crawl. A little over the age of 2, she started walking along things. She proved the doctors wrong.
Throughout high-school she was made fun of which was super hard for her, as it would be for anyone. After high-school she went to college for cosmetology. This was her dream. She was given a hard time by another student and a teacher at the school saying she wouldn't be able to do it because of her disability. Student one things a teacher, not acceptable. This was super defeating for Carly. Over the years her big heart caused people to take advantage of her situation. She saw good in everyone and wanted to help people. Carlys other dream from the time she could remember was to become a mother. At the age of 21 Carly welcomed her first child into this world. Getting out of a toxic relationship moving into her own apartment in roseau. She then entered another relationship having her daughter at the age of 24 and moving into a house with her daughters father. that realtionship was also not healthy and an alcohol addiction came about at that time. Carly struggled dealing with all of life's issues and covered it up with alcohol. When things escalated, her and her daughter were made to leave and she ended up living with our mother with her two children. This in itself at that time was alot for anyone to deal with.
2018 I gave my sister the trailer house she is in so she had a place of her own for her and her children. After moving in she had a couple toxic relationship and still struggling with alcohol. There was an incident that escalated and the cops were called and she was put in jail at this point she didn't believe she struggled with alcohol and that it wasn't a problem. It wasn't until the second incident happened with my mom 2 years ago and the cops being called and CPS was involved that she realized that alcohol was definitely a problem. She went above and beyond what social services asked of her and found so much about herself and everyday has worked on herself since. Her children are her world and she was not going to put them or herself in those situations again. She started therapy and realized all of the traumas in life that affected her and was able to work on healing them. Fast forward to August on 2024, her worst nightmare came true. Someone she felt she could trust sexually assaulted her daughter. She has been there through every step to make sure her daughter gets all the help and support she needs to overcome this horrible situation. (This is NOT Carlys fault, it can happen to ANYONE sadly). Carly has beat herself up and hurts so much for her daughter.
A few months ago Carly was served papers for her daughters father wanting full custody of her. After carly being the sole provider with no child support. This broke Carlys heart. McKenna & Carly have a strong bond. With everything they have overcome together, her daughter being ripped from her mother is not what is needed. McKenna wants to stay with her mom because she loves her school and has alot of friends she has grown with over the year and wants to stay there also because her brother goes there. She's on the A honoral all year long. Carly is not her past. She has worked on herself so much over the last 2 years. She is a great mother. She is currently working on getting her license and a car and has worked on her anxiety and wants to get a part time job in the near future. She's a fighter and has been since birth!
Sharing her story with her permission because Carly needs all your help with words of encouragement and or advice on what she should do next. Being disabled and 2 kids on a fixed income she is not able to afford a lawyer. $3000 down payment. Please keep her and her littles in your prayers.
