Carlyle's Proxy NYRR TFK Fundraising Page

Due to cancellations related to Hurricane Sandy (2012) and the global pandemic (2020), the 50th running of the NYC Marathon incidentally coincides with Carlyle’s 50th revolution around the sun, so he’s running around NYC to commemorate this providential #50thFor50th occasion.

 

However, because COVID-time is a void -- and even the things we deeply care about are lost somewhere in it -- we learned of yesterday's deadline to raise the minimum fundraising sum required by NYRR Team for Kids to guarantee Carlyle's entry in the 2021 NYC Marathon... when the Amex app politely informed us that NYRR had charged us $2620.

 

So instead of circulating Carlyle's official NYRR TFK fundraising page (which we likewise failed to personalize in a timely manner) and in lieu of gifts, please consider a small, indirect donation to the kids via this GoFundMe page in honor of Carlyle's October 11th birthday.

 

Any amount received above and beyond our goal will be publicly added to the $2620-contribution we've already, albeit inadvertently, made.

 

IMAGE: This photo was taken at Mile 25 of the 2015 NYC Marathon after Carlyle (illegally) jumped in at Mile 19 and ran the remaining 7.2 miles with me, which is why he looks incredibly debonair while I appear constipated. While he did cross the finish line with me without getting arrested, he graciously refused the medal offered to him that day. He looks forward to earning one of his own on November 7th.
