Carlos Hunter was murdered on March 7th, 2019. Shot 16 times by Safe Streets Detectives in Vancouver, WA. He left behind 6 kids. This fund is to help support their family. Carlos was a black man killed after a traffic stop that law enforcement said was part of a drug trafficking investigation. A statement from the Vancouver Police Department identified Hunter as a known gang member and said he was uncooperative and armed with a handgun. Family members disagree, saying Hunter had not been affiliated with any gangs for years. There is no audio or video of the traffic stop. Officers said Hunter did not follow their directions. He refused to get out of his car and was becoming “increasingly argumentative,” according to police. Vancouver Police Department identified the officers involved as Detectives Dennis Devlin and Colton Price. These detectives still have their jobs and only faced a brief leave back in 2019.
