North Cumbria Search & Rescue was inspired by the founders involvement in the Storm Desmond Emergency Response TEN years ago, and the flooding that had a catastrophic impact across the community of Carlisle, Cumbria - and beyond
The team became a registered charity in 2019 and are a fully trained volunteer search and rescue team of around 40 people, on call 24/7 365 days a year.
Personally, my family were one of the many hundreds of Carlisle residents flooded out of our home back in 2015, and I joined the team as I totally understand how important the team is to the local community. TEN years later the team hopes you can help us to help our community with a £10 donation.
The team work with the local blue light services to assist on both inland waterway and land searches, and are also prepared (and local) should Carlisle experience another flooding event like Desmond. As well as the countless call outs since their inception, they also promote water safety throughout North Cumbria, in schools, colleges and community groups to name but a few.
Any donation will help make a huge impact to our voluntary team. If it's more or less than £10 the team would be incredibly grateful. As a totally voluntary team every penny makes a huge difference. The team doesn't receive any government funding and it's costs are insurance, equipment, vehicles, fuel, specialist clothing, training, welfare and maintenance.
Thanks in advance for your contribution to this vital, local charity.
