Help Me Care for My 17-Year-Old Sister After Our Parents Were Detained by ICE
Our family’s lives changed in a moment when our parents were detained by ICE and are now facing deportation. We are trying to process everything that has happened while figuring out how to move forward without our parents here.
I am now my 17-year-old little sister’s primary guardian, and I am doing everything I can to make sure she is safe, supported, and able to continue her life despite the uncertainty we are facing.
This is not a situation either of us ever expected to be in. Instead of being able to rely on our parents, I am now taking on the responsibility of helping care for my little sister and making sure her needs are met. I want her to be able to focus on school, her future, and being a teenager rather than worrying about whether we will have enough to get by.
I am creating this GoFundMe because we need help navigating this difficult transition. Donations will go toward essential living expenses, including food, housing, utilities, transportation, school-related needs, and other necessities. Any additional support may also help us seek legal guidance for our parents as we try to understand our options.
Asking for help is not easy, but I know I cannot do everything alone. I am trying my best to be strong for my sister, but we are facing a lot of uncertainty, and any support would make a meaningful difference in our lives.
If you are unable to donate, sharing our story would mean so much to us. Every donation, share, and kind message will help us feel less alone during this incredibly difficult time.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for helping me give my little sister the stability and support she deserves. From the bottom of our hearts, we are grateful for any kindness shown to our family during this time. ❤️
