In January, our 11-year-old son Cohen was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a form of bone cancer in his left femur. Since then, life has shifted into hospital visits, chemotherapy treatments, and learning just how much courage can live inside one kid.
Cohen began chemotherapy in early February and will undergo six chemo cycles over the next seven months including weekly blood tests, with surgery planned halfway through. While he’s facing this road with incredible strength and humour, the journey means frequent trips from Cochrane to the Alberta Children’s Hospital, time away from work, and other unplanned expenses.
Cohen is deeply loved across two homes, sharing his time between his dad Curtis and stepmom Anna’s house — alongside his little brother Jaxon — and his mom and her partner's home, surrounded by support at every turn.
*This fundraiser has been created to help support Curtis and Anna as they manage any added financial strain during Cohen's treatment.*
We're grateful beyond words for the many inquiries and offers of assistance from friends and family. Should you wish to make a contribution, funds will go toward travel costs (gas to and from the hospital), Cohen’s dietary needs and homecare supplies during treatment, and any unpaid time off work beyond our family’s available PTO. The remaining portion of funds raised will be donated to Childhood Cancer Canada, an incredible organization that supports families like ours.
We are endlessly grateful for the care Cohen is receiving and for the love and encouragement surrounding him. If you’re able to contribute, share, or leave a message for our superhero, it means more than we can say. Thank you for helping us through this journey one step at a time.
