Caring for Angus

Due to unforeseen circumstances our family has grown from 4 to 5 overnight with us taking on the permanent care of our little Nephew Angus who is 9 months old. So we now have a 2.5 year old a 6 month old and a 9 month old in our house.

As much as we would like to say it has not put a massive strain on us it has. We did not have the usual 9 months to prepare for a situation like this we literally got given a few hours.

Due to this we are not really in a situation to live as a 5 household family. We have been informed that there may be some support but at this stage it appears as if we will be getting minimal support.

We do not have simple things like a car seat, a cot, a pram, clothes and a car that will be able to transport our new family around (the one car we do have is with the mechanic because the engine blew up last week). We do not know if day care will be funded which we will need to utilise as we both have to work now to ensure we can pay for this.

My wife is a very proud lady and does an amazing job for our kids and our new addition in Angus but I know that she will not ask so I am putting it out there to see if we can get some assistance.

I know that most people have families of their own to look after but we could not live with ourselves if we let our newest family member go into foster care so we are gritting our teeth and taking on what we feel we must do to give this little guy a chance.

Even the smallest amount will help us set things up so that we can cope with this situation.

I know that we will do an amazing job and will come out on the other side of this. Thank you for all the support.
