Black British Culture is stepping up to support Brendan, a hardworking young man who has recently experienced a devastating loss during the riots in Middlesbrough on Sunday, August 4th, 2024. Brendan’s car, which he had saved up for over a year, was completely destroyed while he was working a long 12-hour shift at a care home.

His commitment to caring for others was met with the heartbreak of losing something he worked so hard to achieve. Initially, a generous outpouring of support allowed over £60,000 to be raised for Brendan. However, due to unforeseen circumstances and miscommunication, he will not be receiving the full amount. 

We believe that Brendan deserves the opportunity to rebuild his life on his terms. He has expressed the need for a new car, insurance, rent assistance for a year, and help with his university fees. These are reasonable requests for someone who has endured such a sudden and significant loss.

 Our goal is to rally our community to raise the funds Brendan needs to get back on his feet. This isn’t just about replacing what was lost; it’s about giving Brendan the stability and support he deserves during this challenging time.

 We understand the importance of ensuring that all donations are used transparently and for the intended purpose.
