Caregiving & Medical for Sage

Hello, my name is Caleb, and I am creating this fundraiser on behalf of my mother, Sage, who is an incredibly loving and caring mother and grandmother.

Recently, she sustained a significant injury when she fell down a flight of stairs, resulting in a severe fracture in her leg. Specifically, she suffered a Pilon Fracture in her Tibia and Fibula, affecting her shinbone, ankle, and overall leg. To address this, she underwent two surgeries. The initial procedure involved the placement of an external fixator to stabilize her leg before the subsequent surgery, which entailed the insertion of pins and plates to facilitate the healing process. Following her hospitalization, she underwent intensive physical therapy and initial post-surgery recovery at a rehabilitation center. Now, she is back at home and on the path to long recovery.

My brothers and I have been doing our utmost to assist her and will continue to do so in the coming months. Currently, we are seeking some support for a full-time caregiver and covering some of her medical expenses during this challenging period.

The estimated recovery time is approximately a year, during which she is required to avoid putting any weight on her injured leg for at least six months. Consequently, she is confined to her bed and requires substantial care. Given that none of us reside nearby, managing this situation has proven to be quite complex and demanding.
