I am creating care kits for cancer patients as a one piece of school project because I have seen firsthand how much they struggle with boredom and isolation during their treatment. Spending long hours in hospitals can be incredibly lonely even with some kind of support if provided, and I wanted to find a way to help them feel more connected and supported. This project is my way of reaching out and letting them know that they are not alone. That we see their struggle and how brave they are.

With the funds raised, I will put together special care kits that include a chapter from an ongoing story, a unique item that hints at what’s coming next in the story, and a creative prompt to inspire imagination and engagement. Each kit is designed to give patients something to look forward to, spark their curiosity, and provide a sense of comfort during difficult times even allow communication, if chosen, between other patients. I believe that even small gestures like these can make a big difference in someone’s day.
