**ESP ABAJO**

On the morning of December 10th, a beloved father of 3 was on his way to buy construction materials for work. Waiting at a traffic light near the PG mall, ICE encountered him and asked him to step out of the car. Despite his cooperation with the officers, he was detained and is now in a detention center in VA, creating even more confusion and stress for both him and the family.

Left behind, the mom of the Marenco family is caring for her children left behind: an 11yr old, a 5yr old, and a 3yr old. All of the children are feeling the absence of their father. One of the children has multiple disabilities and needs constant medical attention. Each of the children have been permanently impacted and no longer want to talk or attend school. The burden of this significant loss has been weighing on the family heavily.

Ms. Marenco has been met with several challenges during this difficult time- caring for her son with disabilities, trying to work with lawyers about her husband’s case, paying for bills/legal fees/groceries/rent that were all once supported by Jamie’s work, and navigating life without her husband.

She is fearful of having to return to El Salvador and therefore removing the opportunity of care for her children. Foregoing the treatment her son needs (occupational therapy, sensory therapy, neurologists, etc.) is the worst outcome for this family.

Every donation, no matter the size, will help this family maintain their rent, food and utilities as well as legal fees, and ensure the children's needs are met while we work to reunite this family. Thank you for your compassion and support during this heartbreaking time.

En la mañana del 10 de diciembre, un querido padre de tres hijos se dirigía a comprar materiales de construcción para su trabajo. Mientras esperaba en un semáforo cerca del centro comercial PG, agentes de ICE lo interceptaron y le pidieron que saliera del auto. A pesar de su cooperación con los oficiales, fue detenido y ahora se encuentra en un centro de detención en Virginia, lo que ha generado aún más confusión y estrés tanto para él como para su familia.

La madre de la familia Marenco se ha quedado sola cuidando a sus tres hijos: uno de 11 años, uno de 5 y otro de 3. Todos los niños sienten la ausencia de su padre. Uno de ellos tiene múltiples discapacidades y necesita atención médica constante. Esta situación ha afectado profundamente a los niños, quienes ya no quieren hablar ni ir a la escuela. La carga de esta gran pérdida ha sido muy pesada para la familia.

La Sra. Marenco se ha enfrentado a numerosos desafíos durante este difícil período: cuidar a su hijo con discapacidades, trabajar con abogados en el caso de su esposo, pagar las facturas, los honorarios legales, la comida y el alquiler, gastos que antes cubría el trabajo de Jamie, y sobrellevar la vida sin su esposo.

Teme tener que regresar a El Salvador y, por lo tanto, perder la oportunidad de que sus hijos reciban la atención que necesitan. Renunciar al tratamiento que su hijo requiere (terapia ocupacional, terapia sensorial, neurólogos, etc.) sería la peor consecuencia para esta familia.

Cada donación, sin importar el monto, ayudará a esta familia a cubrir el alquiler, la comida, los servicios básicos y los honorarios legales, y garantizará que se satisfagan las necesidades de los niños mientras trabajamos para reunirlos con su padre.
