Anyone who knows anything about me knows I have a few special, life- long friends named Tammy.     Well, one of my Tammys  and her family could use our support. Tammy (Tompkins) Caster and her family have suffered a setback in their son Derek's  battle  with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.   Derek suffered a spontaneous collapsed lung over a week ago and has been hospitalized going on 9 days now. 
Although they are receiving great care from the hospital, Tammy and her husband Darin cannot leave Derek's side.  Due to DMD, Derek is unable to move and although he is paralyzed he does feel everything. Something as simple as scratching his nose,  or re-situating himself needs to be done for him.  Having said that, Tammy and Darin are there for Derek every minute of every day. 
I have never seen a stronger, more loving, more faithful family.  They have only asked for prayers, during this emotional, exhausting time. Not knowing when Derek will be released, or when they will be able to return to work,  I can only surmise that the lost income is going to hurt.  To that end, I am asking you to donate to this incredible family and give them one less thing to be concerned about. The money raised will be used for whatever they need it for! Food at the hospital, bills at home and the like.
